Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

What's a partial hospitalization program?

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a structured mental health treatment program for a person experiencing mental health symptoms which offers adults all of the features of inpatient care without the overnight hospital stay.

We provide skilled professional care supervision by a Medical Director.

How Does It Work?

Generally, this includes those who have previously met the criteria for and have been discharged from Residential or inpatient treatment. However, those in need of more intensive services and do not require residential/inpatient treatment may directly admit to PHP.

As a structured program, a PHP offers therapy, group counseling, medication management which allows patients to maintain or transition back to their daily lives. The goal is to foster a healthy transition. Individuals participate in scheduled sessions during the day, 3-5 days per week. These individuals live at home.

Redeemed’s outpatient treatment programs are designed for individuals who meet the following criteria:

18 years and older

Difficulty functioning at work/school/personal relationships

Not at current risk of being a danger to themselves or others

Medically stable

Active participant in treatment

What are the advantages of a PHP?

Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) offer several advantages for individuals with serious mental health concerns.  These advantages include:

Comprehensive Mental Health Care

PHPs provide a holistic approach to mental health treatment by offering access to various services such as therapy, medication management, and other necessary health services. By having a dedicated treatment team working together, individuals receive comprehensive care tailored to their specific symptoms and needs.

Increased Flexibility

Unlike inpatient programs that require overnight stays, PHPs offer more flexibility in scheduling. Participants can continue their daily routines, such as attending work or school, while receiving intensive treatment during the day. This flexibility allows for greater integration of treatment into daily life.
